Homecert is built on a foundation of civil engineering expertise. Based in Co. Mayo, delivering BER assessments, energy consultancy, planning and engineering services nationwide across Ireland.
About Homecert
Homecert Limited is a BER assessment, energy compliance and civil engineering consultancy founded and operated by an SEAI-registered Building Energy Assessor with a background in civil engineering. We are based in Co. Mayo and serve homeowners, landlords, estate agents, architects and developers across Ireland.
Our approach is straightforward: rigorous technical work, honest advice, and fast, professional service. We are not a large national firm. We are a focused, local business that understands the specific characteristics of West Mayo’s housing stock — from traditional rural cottages on the Murrisk Peninsula to modern suburban developments in Westport.
Every assessment and report we produce is completed personally by our registered assessor. You get the same level of care and technical precision whether you’re based in Mayo or anywhere else in Ireland.
Our Credentials
Undergraduate and professional training in civil engineering provides the technical foundation for rigorous, accurate energy assessments.
Fully registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. All certificates issued comply with SI 666 of 2006 and current SEAI standards.
Based in Co. Mayo, we deliver BER assessments, engineering and planning services to clients across all 26 counties of Ireland.
Rooted in the west of Ireland with deep knowledge of the local housing stock and planning environment, extending our expertise nationwide.
Our Approach
We believe a BER assessment should be more than a box-ticking exercise. When we visit a property, we conduct a thorough on-site survey — measuring dimensions accurately, identifying construction methods and materials, and recording heating and hot water system details with precision. We do not guess or estimate where we can measure.
The DEAP calculation is completed to the same standard we would apply if the certificate were being reviewed by SEAI in an audit. Every certificate we issue must be defensible, accurate and compliant. Our audit record reflects this.
For heat pump and compliance work, we apply the same engineering discipline — presenting our findings clearly, without unnecessary jargon, in reports designed to be used by homeowners, builders and grant authorities alike.
We’re a phone call away. No automated queues, no call centres — just your local West Mayo assessor.
